No virus will come near you, Adeboye prays for members

Appreciating God and praying for congregants at the end of the 50 days fasting and prayers on Saturday, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, assured members that no virus would come near them.

His prayer is not unconnected with the outbreak of Coronavirus, in which an Italian has been tested positive in Lagos.

Praying in a video posted on his verified social media handles, Adeboye said: “By the way, I want to assure you that no virus will come near you at all.”

Quoting Psalm 91, Daddy GO, as he is fondly called by RCCG, said the virus would not come near them because “it is written that those that dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

Earlier, he assured them that because they have been waiting on God in the place of fasting and prayer for 50 days, there was going to be a difference between those who served God and those who did not.

He said: “I want to believe this is time for God to show clearly there is a difference between those who serve him wholeheartedly and those who do not.”

Adeboye prayed that all their prayers during the fasting and prayer would be answered.

Meanwhile, in some Pentecostal churches yesterday in Lagos, restrictions were placed on the usual holding of hands and contacts of fellowship that are part of Sunday services.

At a church in Ilupeju area of the state, the presiding pastor announced at the beginning of the service that the usual family song of unity which the congregants sing while holding hands, would only be sang without the holding of hands.

Similarly, another Pentecostal church in Gbagada area of the state announced a modification in its mode of service especially as it concerns its anointing service sessions where ordained ministers of the church usually anoint members by placing hands on their foreheads.
