Imo State Catholic priest, Father Marcel Izu-Onyeocha, has regained freedom from his abductors after spending one day in captivity.

His release was confirmed in a short statement issued by the Owerri provincial secretary of Claretian Missionaries, Rev. Fr. Matthew Iwuagwu on Monday.

Iwuagwu disclosed that Fr. Onyeocha was dropped off at the Ihube Community in the Okigwe council area of the state in the early hours of Monday.
