Chief Bandit Baba Arusa Reportedly Killed In Shootout

Chief bandit, Yellow Baba Arusa, who allegedly led the kidnapping operation on Kaduna-Abuja highway last Sunday has been killed in a shootout with the police.

Arusa was reportedly killed in an ambush staged by the police on Friday.

Although the police have not issued any statement on the incident, a Daily Trust report, said, Arusa and four other bandits had gone to buy alcohol and pentazocine, an opioid pain medication, when they ran into a police trap, somewhere around Kaduna South Local Government Area.

A motorcycle and a rifle were reportedly recovered from his gang. The death of Arusa came less than 24 hours after President Buhari gave a sweeping order to security agencies to be merciless.
