Adesokan Adedeji Emmanuel, the Nigerian skitmaker, who is popularly known as Shank Comics, has responded after an old social media post in which he praised convicted American rapper Diddy’s “mindset” resurfaced and triggered widespread backlash online.

In the old post, Shank spoke about admiring Diddy’s “perspective to the grind” and his ability to adapt, noting that the music mogul “got lost in the pursuit of power.”

Amid the backlash online, Shank, in a post via his handle, clarified that he was not supporting Diddy in any way.

According to him, the earlier social media post was a “misguided attempt” at referencing a villain in a movie.

He admitted the post was irresponsible and clarified that he does not admire, defend, or support Diddy, especially with the serious allegations the American star has faced.

Shank added that the accusations against Diddy are horrific and that anyone guilty of such behaviour deserves every consequence that follows.

He wrote, “To clarify any misunderstanding: My post about Diddy was a misguided attempt at referencing a villain in a “movie” and it was irresponsible. To be absolutely clear, I do not admire, support, or defend him in any way.

“The allegations against him are horrific, and he deserves every consequence that comes from them. What he’s been accused of (and convicted of) is unacceptable and has no place in our industry or anywhere else. Victims deserve justice.I’m committed to doing better and using my platform responsibly.”
