Famous Nigerian musician, Wasiu Ayinde, professionally known as Kwam1 or K1 De Ultimate, has declared interest in the Awujale throne.
The singer made his intention to ascend the ancestral stool known in a letter addressed to Fusengbuwa Ruling House on Wednesday December 3, 2025.
Kwam1 in his proposal said his decision aligns with the provisions of the Ogun State chieftaincy laws and the Ijebu customary law.
The 68-year-old who traced his eligibility to his royal lineage of Jadiara line of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House in Agunsebi Quarters, cited his 50 years of cultural advocacy through his music.
“I, Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Adewale Olasunkanmi Omogbolahan Anifowoshe, MON, formally notify the Fusengbuwa Ruling House of my intention to be considered for the vacant stool of the Awujale of Ijebuland”.
Kwam1’s application came a few months after the death of the late Awujale, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, who died at 91 in July 2025 after a 64-year reign.
