A daring confrontation between the police and kidnappers in Plateau State has resulted in the death of two police officers and the arrest of four suspected kidnappers.
The Plateau State Police Command Spokesperson, DSP Alabo Alfred, confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday.
According to him “The incident occurred along Little Rayfield Road in Jos, where the kidnappers had attempted to abduct their victims.
The deceased police officers, identified as Fatoyo Femi and Inspector Dafur Dashit, were part of a special team deployed from Abuja to assist in the fight against kidnapping in the state,
However, the two officers lost their lives during the exchange of gunfire with the suspected kidnapper.
The statement which appealed for calm over the incident added, “the case is under investigation. Further developments will be communicated to you in due course.
