The newly appointed judges of the Federal Capital Territory’s High Court have received a warning from Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), about potential difficulties, disparaging remarks, and verbal abuse from litigants.
This was said by the CJN on Thursday during the high court judges’ installation.
He expressed his congratulations to the 12 new judges but also his sympathy for them, citing the discomforts they will face in carrying out their judicial responsibilities.
Ariwoola cautioned the judges to fulfill their duties in accordance with the law and the oath of office taken to them, and to be ready to take in all disparaging words.
