Atiku: Nigerian Police Violating Citizens’ Rights and Disobeying Court Orders

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for president in 2023, has charged that the Nigerian Police violate citizens’ rights and disobey court orders.
The assertion was made by the former vice president in a statement released on Saturday by Paul Ibe, his media adviser.

Atiku attacked the Police for what he perceived as a disrespect for the rule of law and the rights of the people.

In response to Yusuf Sheriff Banki’s arrest and transfer from Abuja to Maiduguri, he made this statement.

Part of the statement says, “Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential contender in 2023 and a former vice president of Nigeria, has criticized the Police for their flagrant violations of citizens’ rights and disobedience of court orders.
