‘Do Whatever Is Necessary To Stop This Daily Flow Of Tears’ – Peter Obi Urges FG

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has weighed in on the current insecurity challenges in the country.

In a post shared on Twitter, the former Anambra State Governor expressed concern for the families of the soldiers killed by terrorists in Abuja.

Obi worried over the regular duties of sending condolence messages to bereaved families when such deaths could have been avoided.

The LP flagbearer called on the Federal Government to do whatever was necessary to stop the constant flow of tears in the country.

He wrote: “I deeply console the families and loved ones of our soldiers killed by terrorists. It’s becoming regular duties to send such condolences for avoidable deaths. So sad! Our government should please do whatever is necessary to stop this daily flow of tears.”

Soldiers of the 7 Guards Battalion who were on routine patrol along Kubwa–Bwari road on Sunday, ran into an ambush by suspected terrorists in the nation’s capital city.

The terrorists were said to be headed to the Nigerian Law School in Bwari when they ran into the troops, leading to the exchange of gunfire in which three soldiers were injured.

Speaking on the development, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Guards Brigade, Captain Godfrey Abakpa, confirmed the attack but said the terrorists were successfully repelled.

He disclosed that the three soldiers were injured during the attack and have been evacuated to the NAOWA hospital in Abuja for treatment.

According to The Nation, the terrorists killed two officers and six soldiers attached to the Guards Brigade during the attack.
