Ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s exit from office in 2023, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu has said the victory of the presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu would be a partying gift for him.
Adamu made this known during a meeting of party leaders with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Saturday.
He said the main goal of the party is to succeed in the general elections and there’s no better parting gift to Buhari than to ensure that APC produces the next president.
He said: ‘‘Our main goal is to see the success of the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
There’s no better parting gift (to Buhari) than to ensure that the APC produces the next President.”
On his part, the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) Chairman, Atiku Bagudu said Buhari had set a precedent for internal democracy in parties.
The Kebbi state governor said the Nigerian leader has seen that the democratic process can produce very excellent results.
“What we have seen is that democratic processes can produce very excellent results.”
Bagudu added that the ruling platform has a candidate and a running mate whom they are all proud of.
