The Labour Party (LP) is expected to announce its vice presidential candidate on Friday ahead of the 2023 general election.
According to Vanguard, the fast-growing party will unveil Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as the running mate to its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
This is coming after former presidential aide, Doyin Okupe stepped down as the vice-presidential candidate of the party.
Doyin Okupe made this known in a post on his Twitter page on Thursday.
Naija News has deemed it fit to share some important details about Baba-Ahmed.
1. Senator Baba-Ahmed is in his 40s.
2. Baba-Ahmed served as a Representative for Zaria Federal Constituency from 2003 to 2007.
3. He represented the Kaduna North senatorial district from 2011 to 2012.
4. Baba-Ahmed was a presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party in 2018.
5. He has a BSc and MSc in Economics from the University of Maiduguri in Borno State.
6. The politician got a doctor of Philosophy at the University of Westminster.
7. Baba-Ahmed is the founder and Pro-Chancellor of Baze University in Abuja.
The National Chairman of the party, Barrister Julius Abure, on Thursday, said the unveiling would take place at the party’s headquarter on Friday.
