The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has described Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State as the Jagaban of the main opposition party.
The former Vice-President made this known through the spokesperson of his presidential campaign, Segun Sowunmi, on Arise Television.
While stating that Wike is a man of revolution, he said that the Rivers State governor is a straightforward person who says things as they are.
Sowunmi said: “Wike is our own Jagaban; how do you explain a governor being able to keep other governors in line? One thing you can’t deny is that he has the ability to say it as it is. He will not bend or colour things.
“Atiku holds Wike in high esteem, time and space may not bring them together, but he does. Wike is a man of revolution; he is one of the totems of PDP.”
Reports emerged claiming Governor Wike is plotting to leave the opposition party after being overlooked for the party’s Vice Presidential ticket.
Many allies of the Rivers State Governor had slammed Atiku for failing to reach out to Wike after picking Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate despite various committees of the party recommending Wike.
