‘Why Peter Obi Is Silent Amidst Backlash On Pastor Poju Oyemade’ – Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri has tackled the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his silence amidst the backlash on Senior Pastor and Founder of The Covenant Nation, Poju Oyemade.

Poju in the post shared on the microblogging platform, Twitter spoke about the enthusiasm of youths, which according to him, shouldn’t be wasted on poorly planned projects.

While making a reference to the scripture, the clergyman said no man goes to battle without taking stock first nor lays the foundation of a tower without counting the cost, else he would be mocked.

Although Poju didn’t mention Peter Obi’s name in the tweets, many supporters inferred that it was directed at Peter Obi whose main supporters are youths.

Despite the backslash on Poju, the former Anambra Governor has remained silent but cleared the air on the viral Muslim mat with his picture.

Reacting to this, Reno Omokri, in a post shared on Instagram, said no matter how angry the youths are they should at least appreciate Poju for giving Obi the platform that brought him to the limelight.

According to Reno, the LP presidential candidate is silent on the issue of Poju because it does not affect his popularity, unlike the Muslim prayer mat that threatened his popularity.

He wrote: “One reason Peter Obi became popular with a lot of social media savvy youths is because of The Platform opportunity Pastor Poju gave him. Without that stage, he may not have risen to his current level. No matter how angry you are, at least appreciate Poju for that.

“This is the main issue with Peter Obi. The Muslim prayer mat issue threatened his popularity. He QUICKLY spoke. But now, his followers are attacking a man who gave him The Platform that helped his popularity. He is silent. Because it does not affect his popularity.

“There are people who gave their backs to you as a step on your rise to national prominence. They saw potential in you before your newfound online loyalists saw it. And then when these people start to insult and threaten them, you keep quiet. Peter, remember those you met on your way up. You will also meet them on your way down.”
