Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Wednesday hosted his counterpart, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed in Port Harcourt.
The reason behind Mohammed’s visit to the Peoples Democratic Party presidential aspirant is not clear as at the time of filing this report.
However, it may not be unconnected to the alleged plan of Governor Wike to dump the main opposition party ahead of the 2023 general election.
Governor Wike has remained silent ever since the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar picked the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.
Associates of the Rivers Governor have expressed their displeasure with the decision of Atiku to drop Wike as the party’s Vice Presidential candidate.
This is coming after the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi visited Wike in Port Harcourt.
The details of their meeting were not stated as they both went into a closed-door meeting.
