Kaduna State Reacts To Boko Haram Massive Recruitment Drive

The Kaduna State Government has reacted to the recruitment drive of a splinter group of Boko Haram, Ansaru terrorist group.

Naija News had earlier reported that the notorious terrorist group started the recruitment process during a visit to some villages in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.

According to Daily Trust, the terrorists during their visit shared gifts to the villagers to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr and to woo the residents to join them.

Some of the villages visited by the terrorist group include Damari, Farin Ruwa, Kwasa Kwasa, Kuyello, Gobirawa, Tabanni, Kutemeshi and Kazage.

The terrorists were said to have also preached and distributed a five-page pamphlet titled; ‘We are not Boko Haram but Ansaru’, flash disks and other items to the villagers.

Also, the insurgents reportedly performed motorcycle stunts to entertain the villagers in a bid to entice them to join their nefarious business.

Reacting to the development, Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna, Samuel Aruwan, said the government was aware of the activities of the terror group.

Aruwan said the government received an intelligence report on the insurgents’ activities and the appropriate authorities have taken up the matter.

The dreaded group had been tagged as a terrorist group by the Federal High Court, Abuja last year.
