Again Gunmen Attack Anambra Community, Kill Four

Again, some yet to be identified gunmen have killed four people in Anambra State.

It has been understood that the victims were killed on Monday morning at different locations in the state.

Two of the victims were identified as siblings. Their names are revealed as Godwin Ikechukwu Modobi and Nnajiofor Modobi.

They were reportedly murdered in Umuhu village in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state.

A source close to the family told the PUNCH that Godwin was a direct younger brother to Nnajiofor, and was also a former youth leader in the community.

The other two victims were reportedly killed along the Udorji Road, beside St. Mary’s Church, Ozubulu, in Ekwusigo LGA.

The source told newsmen that the gunmen first killed Nnajiofor right in their house, after which they blindfolded and abducted the younger brother, whom they also eventually killed close to Utah Junction and dumped his corpse at the centre of the road.

The assailants reportedly laid the corpse of the victim at the centre of the deserted expressway, without a vehicle or pedestrian coming or going through the road.

It was learnt that fired bullets were also spotted close to the corpse with bullet wounds on his chest and other parts of the body.

The Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, could not respond to calls and messages sent to him at the time of filing this report.

The attack, Naija News understands is coming barely four days after gunmen killed five persons at a restaurant in Uto Ndu in Obiofia Village, under the Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state.

The owner of the restaurant identified simply as Ụtọ Ndụ (a female) was also killed in the attack.

Sympathisers, friends and some relatives of the victims have taken to social media to mourn their beloved family members.
