Third Batch Of Nigerians Stranded In Ukraine Arrive Abuja

The Nigerian Government has received the third batch of stranded Nigerians from Ukraine in Abuja.
Naija News gathered that the evacuees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, at 11:50 pm on Friday from Budapest, Hungary aboard Air Peace.

In a tweet via its Twitter handle, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) said the Nigerians were received by its officials at the Abuja airport.

The returnees are expected to meet with the Health services for medical checkups and would proceed to fill in some documents.

Later, the evacuees would be given $100 for transportation and feeding as part of the 8.5million approved by the Federal Government for the 5,000 stranded Nigerians in Ukraine.

This is coming after two batches of Nigerians from Ukraine were received in Abuja on Thursday and Friday.

Evacuation Begins
Nigerians were evacuated following the intervention of the Federal Government with the cooperation of neighbouring governments around Ukraine.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gabriel Aduda, had disclosed that the government has taken steps to ensure that no Nigerian is stranded in any of the countries they have fled to.

According to Aduda, Nigerian airlines; Air Peace and Air Max would transport stranded Nigerians from Romania, Hungary, and Poland.
