The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has been charged by a human rights lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, to parade suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.

Olajengbesi in a post on his Facebook account urged the agency to display the 25kh cocaine, $61,400 and other exhibits recovered from the former head of the IGP Intelligence Response Team.

He noted that NDLEA has not paraded the embattled police officer as they do to citizens by interviewing them on cameras.

The lawyer added that NDLEA needs to bring Kyari on TV with a display of the 25kg cocaine to answer questions.

Olajengbesi wrote, “In this Abba Kyari’s case, the Nigerian security agencies are yet to demonstrate equal lawlessness they carry out in investigating and embarrassing citizens by interviewing them on cameras, taking their pictures holding boards with incriminating inscriptions and parading them with their criminal items in a press conference like they do to common criminals.

“We need the NDLEA to bring Abba Kyari to answer questions on TV with a display of the 25kg cocaine. Let us not be hopeless in this country!”
