Alleged Ritual: Imo Woman Escapes After Son Attacked And Stabbed Her

A woman Eziada Chika Mbachu has escaped after her son stabbed her multiple times to allegedly use her for ritual purposes in Owerri, Imo.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday morning between 7am and 8am at Heroes apartment opposite Concord hotel in Owerri, Vanguard reports.

According to the publication, an eyewitness stated that the suspect invited his mother in the early hours of Monday morning and proceeded to stab her.

The eyewitness said: “The mother was shouting and calling for help with blood stains and wounds on her body. The neighbours heard of it and started rushing to help her. They rescued her. When the son saw many people coming he stopped attacking the mother.

“It was that time that the mother fell and started crying and the neighbours rescued her and separated her from the son.

“The woman was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, hospital for treatment so that treatment can commence on her immediately because of the knife cuts. The police have arrested the boy and taken him to the station.”

The escaped victim, Mrs Mbachu proceeded to thank God and her neighbours for saving her from such a dire ordeal.

She said: “I thank God for rescuing me. I thank God for rescuing me. I thank my neighbours for rescuing me. I thank everybody who came to my rescue. I thank my neighbours. God in heaven I say honour to your name.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Micheal Abbattam said he has not been briefed on the incident, promising to call the DPO of the area where the incident occurred.
