Everton appoint Duncan Ferguson as caretaker boss

0

Duncan Ferguson has been appointed as caretaker manager of Everton for their upcoming fixtures, the club have announced.

The Toffees are on the hunt for a new manager after the sacking of Rafael Benítez following a run of one win in 13 games, with Roberto Martínez reportedly the leading candidate to take over.

But while the process of appointing a replacement goes on, Ferguson will take over for an unspecified period of time until a permanent solution is found.

It is the second time that the Scot has taken over temporarily at Goodison Park, as he enjoyed an unbeaten run in December 2019 from three fixtures in charge against Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.
