The Osun State chapter of the Southwest security network codenamed Operation Amotekun has arrested no fewer than seven residents with mutilated human parts.
One Ganiyu Wasiu (35) and his 21-year-old daughter, Muizzat Wasiu, were prime suspects of the evil acts.
A statement attributed to the State Amotekun Field Commandant, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, revealed that Wasiu and his daughter were apprehended at the Oke-Fia area of Igege Town in Olaoluwa Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects were reportedly conveying the mutilated human parts in a Ghana-Must-Go bag to a location before they were nabbed by the local security men.
The father, Wasiu had been beaten to stupor and was almost lynched by some irate youth.
“Seven more suspects were arrested in Iwo town in connection with the fresh human parts. The identity of the corpse is yet to be known. We arrested Lawal Ibraheem (25), Adiatu Rufus (19), Fatola Niyi (45), Eniola Akeem (42), Chief Amusan (64), Alaba Oyeniran (31) and Oyekola Ibraheem(20),” the Amotekun commandant noted in the statement.
Amitolu explained further that all the suspects arrested have been handed over to the Department of State Service (DSS) for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a video has surfaced on the internet showing some operatives of the Nigerian Army mercilessly brutalizing an officer of the Nigeria Police Force.
The incident, Naija News learnt happened in Ibadan, Oyo State capital the last weekend.
While the root cause of the violent attack on an officer of a sister agency is yet to be known, the soldiers were seen in the video assaulting one of the policemen who were evidently managing traffic at a busy junction in Ibadan.
Naija News observed that the assaulted officer was approaching one of the military officers before he was hit with a slap followed by kicks and all.
