Lagos doctors end sit-at-home strike

Lagos state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) on Thursday, May 21, reversed the order asking its members to embark on an indefinite ‘sit-at-home’ directive.

In a statement jointly signed by the chairman, Dr. Saliu Oseni, and secretary, Dr. Ramon Moronkola, the association directed their members to go back to work from 6 pm on Thursday.

The NMA opening up on its decision to reverse the order explained that it was due to the intervention of the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Nigerian police.

The medical body went on to assure members of the association that they will no longer be harassed in the course of performing their duties amid the coronavirus pandemic.
