Coronavirus: I’ve already recovered, says Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi says he’s already recovered from his coronavirus scare.
The Blues attacker was confirmed to be suffering from the virus on Thursday evening, when Arsenal also announced that their manager Mikel Arteta had tested positive, reports mirror.co.uk.

All matches in the Premier League are expected to be called off this weekend, with a potential suspension halting football in the UK for a number of weeks.
Hudson-Odoi posted a video on social media on Friday in which he made clear that he had already recovered.

“Guys, as you may be aware, I’ve had the virus for the last couple of days which I’ve recovered from,” he said.
“I’ve followed the guidelines and will be self-isolating for a week.
“I hope to see everybody soon, and hopefully we can get back on the pitch soon. Take care.”
The Blues released a statement on Thursday evening when they confirmed that Hudson-Odoi’s diagnosis had led to first-team players being put in isolation.

“Callum displayed symptoms similar to a mild cold on Monday morning and has not been at the training ground since then as a precaution,” they said.

However, his test came in positive this evening and he will undergo a period of self-isolation. Despite testing positive for the virus, Callum is doing well and looking forward to returning to the training ground as soon as it is possible.

“We will continue to adhere to Government and Public Health Guidelines with regard to our facilities and staff and will be discussing next steps with regards to upcoming fixtures with the Premier League on Friday morning. We will provide further updates as necessary via the club’s website.

“We wish Callum a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the club soon.”
