Daughter of ex-Senate president David Mark, Mrs. Blessing Onuh, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
She has also secured the ticket of her new party to run for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency seat of Benue State in the House of Representatives.
Onuh, who moved from PDP with over 15,000 members, was received by a large crowd of supporters and later drove to the Ochi’ Idoma’s palace to seek the blessings of the traditional ruler.
While at the palace with other APGA candidates for the forthcoming 2019 general elections, the Ochi’ Idoma, HRH Elias Obekpa, described Onuh as the favourite candidate for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency of Benue State irrespective of political platform.
Addressing a mammoth crowd at the palace’s sports arena in Otukpo, the APGA candidate described the just concluded primaries of the PDP as “the climax of injustice and impunity”.
“We all know the circumstances that drove us from the PDP. It is a story of pains and regret. The so-called primaries of the PDP in Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency and other parts of the state were a mirage,” she said.
