NPF Bank celebrates 25 years with customers

The management of the Nigerian Police Force Micro Finance Bank Plc in Lagos on Thursday rolled out the drums to celebrate their 25 years of meritorious services to customers.

The elaborate ceremony which was anchored by Mrs. Fatima Olajumoke took place at the West Wood Hotels at Ikoyi, Lagos.

Dignitaries from all walks of life, including captains of industries, financial experts, businessmen and women, owners of small and medium scale businesses and customers thronged the occasion to felicitate with the bank.

Also in attendance was Alhaji Tojuowo Alejo, the MD/CEO of Tojuowo Enterprise and also the financial director of Taxi and motors Nigeria Ltd, T & M at CMS bus Stop, Lagos Island, Lagos.

Delivering his speech at the occasion, the MD/CEO of Nigerian Police Force Micro Financial Bank Plc, Akinwunmi Lawal said; NPF Microfinance Bank plc, formerly NPF Community Bank was incorporated on 19 May, 1993 as a Limited Liability Company under the allied matters act Cap C20 LFN 2014, adding that the bank provided banking services to both serving and retired officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force and the general public.

Lawal stated that the bank commenced business on 20 August 1993, at 1, Ikoyi Road, Obalende, Lagos after obtaining provisional license to operate as a Community Bank on 12 July, 1993.

He said that the bank converted from its community banking status to a National Micro Finance Bank following the directives of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN to all community banks, adding that NPF Bank currently operate 28 branches nationwide.

Lawal further said that the authorized share capital of the bank at inception was N500,000 made up of 500,000 ordinary shares of N1.00 each and that the shares has over the years increased to N3 billion made up of 6 billion ordinary shares of 50k each while 2.287 billion ordinary shares of 50k each are issued and fully paid up, adding that the shares was listed on the floor of the Nigerian stock exchange on 1 December 2010.

He stated that the NPF Micro Finance Bank Plc has emerged as one of the leading Micro Finance banking institution in Nigeria that is professionally managed to provides wide ranging banking products and services to customers, adding that the services provided by the bank includes various types of current and savings account and granting of loans to customers to boost their businesses.

In his remarks, Alhaji Alejo thanked the management of NPF Bank for assisting small and medium business owners in Nigeria to survive with soft credit facility which is repayable without much stress.

Alejo also thanked the bank for purchasing four vehicle for his companies and appealed to other financial institutions in Nigeria to emulate the management of NPF Micro Finance Bank in their humane approached to business owners.
