Retired Supreme Court justice, Pius Aderemi, is dead

Retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Pius Olayiwola Aderemi, CON, has passed on.

The former Supreme Court jurist and a one-time chairmanship nominee of the Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) by former President Goodluck Jonathan died on Monday June 18 at a hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State during a brief illness.

The deceased, according to a statement issued by his son, Olakunle Aderemi, was a devoted Catholic, defender of the law and an exemplary and incorruptible jurist of Nigeria’s apex court.

He was at a time, a member of the National Judicial Council, member of the Body of Benchers of Nigeria, and was a Papal Knight of St. Gregory the Great. Aderemi is survived by children and grandchildren
