A man who cut off his girlfriend’s nipples with a pair of scissors during a violent argument has pleaded guilty to domestic assault.
Police say that Tony Deval Ledbetter, 45, punched and slammed his partner’s head to the floor before cutting off her airway to prevent her from screaming during the incident last October.
The 45-year-old then stuffed a blanket in her mouth before sitting on top of her and cutting off her nipples with scissors.
The victim was able to escape the scene before Ledbetter phoned police to explain himself, reports DailyMail.com
The defendant told a court on Friday that he was acting in self-defense as he pleaded guilty to eight counts of domestic assault.
The woman, who was pregnant at the time, gave birth to a healthy baby and is said to be doing well.
A GoFundMe page set up to support her is still receiving donations and has so far raised more than £7,800 ($10,000).
Ledbetter, faces a maximum sentence of 15 years for each count and will be sentenced in November.
