The arrest of Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike aka Evans in his Magodo GRA mansion in Lagos a fortnight ago and his subsequent confessions has enabled the police to arrest another member of his gang – a serving military personnel.
On the day Evans was arrest, the police were also able to round up six other members of the wealthy kidnapper, however, Lance Corporal Victor Chukwunonso was not one of them.
However, police sources told our reporter, that following statements made by billionaire bandit, they were able to zero in on Chukwunonso, who is a serving member of the Nigeria Army with No: 09/NA/64/6317 and who confessed to having taken part in three kidnap operations with Evans.
Corporal Chukwunonso, who is attached to the Nigeria Army Band Corps Abatti Barracks, Surulere, Lagos, is a native of Onitsha in Anambra State – the same state Evans hails from. He was arrested at about 9pm on Friday by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) at the Ojo area of Lagos.
