Many Feared Dead As 3-Storey Building Collapses On Lagos Island

Many are feared dead as yet another building under construction collapsed in Lagos State in the early hours of Monday, May 29.

The latest building to give in during renovation is a 3 storey building situated on Daddy Alaja street, Oke-Arin, on the Lagos Island.

Eyewitnesses say many were trapped in the rubble at the time of the collapse as they wait for the intervention of the State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the state Fire Service.

It is not yet clear the exact number of casualties, if any, in the latest tragedy to hit the state.

This comes two weeks after three people died and many were injured when another three-storey building gave in around the Ilasa area of Lagos, while two construction workers were killed after a house they were building collapsed in Lekki last month.
