Obasanjo storms out of Police event in Lagos

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday walk out of a Nigerian Police event in Lagos for being kept waiting for over an hour by the organiser of the event.

“Next time, before you call me, please be ready,” Obasanjo told police authorities before walking out of a special training and capacity programme for Nigerian Police.
Obasanjo, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the Zone II Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) maiden biannual special training and capacity building programme, held at the Federal Palace Hotel on Victoria Island, walked our of the event after waiting for almost two hours for the programme to start.
While addressing the participants at the event, Obasanjo informed the gathering that he had to return to Ogun State for an event he left midway to attend the police training in Lagos.
Commenting on training of the Nigerian Police, the former president commended the police authorities for the initiative, nothing that there is no substitute for training.
He also urged security operatives to be in tune with practices of their contemporaries in other parts of the globe, adding that all human institutions need constant appraisal, regeneration and training.
