The Independent National Electoral Commission has suspended the rerun election in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.
INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of South-South Zone, Dr. Lecky Mustapha, disclosed this while briefing newsmen Monday night in Port Harcourt.
Mustapha explained that the decision of the commission to suspend the election in Etche was as a result of violence in the area.
He added that elections in Asari-Toru and Akuku-Toru had been concluded and also affirmed election results earlier announced by the commission.
