The Gender Unit Department of the Lagos State Police Command is investigating a case of defilement reported against one Uchena Tony Elumadu, a resident of Martins Street, new Oko Oba, Agege, Lagos State.
Preliminary investigation, according to the police, revealed that the suspect, who is a trader, had on different occasions raped his daughter, after which he usually administers drugs to prevent her from getting pregnant.
The 15-year-old victim, a JSS 3 student, while narrating her ordeal to the police, stated that the father on countless occasions wakes her up in the middle of the night to rape her, mostly when the mother is on night duty.
The mother, who is a casual worker in one of the outfits attached to the airport, on the night of September 19, 2016, discovered the suspect having intercourse with the victim, an occurrence that made her raise the alarm.
The victim is currently admitted in the Police College where she is receiving treatment in partnership with Mirabel Centre of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, where medical examination will be carried out on her.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has directed that Elumadu, who admitted rape on three occasions, blaming the act on the devil, be charged to court.
Owoseni equally said the Command will no longer tolerate cases relating to domestic and sexual violence.
