ND Avengers Switch To Facebook, blow up three pipelines, one manifold

Niger Delta Avengers on Tuesday switched to Facebook to announce that it had blown up a Chevron well and oil pipelines near Warri in the Delta state.

The group’s Twitter account which it used to publicise its attacks was on Monday suspended for violating Twitter rules.
The group said it blew up a Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) manifold close to Banta and two crude pipelines operated by NNPC adding that it also blew up, “At 10pm Chevron Well 10 close to Otunana flowstation.”
Chevron and NNPC could not be immediately reached to comment.
A remote manifold platform (RMP) is where small oil or gas pipelines converge before connecting to a larger storage hub.
The post carried on the group’s ‘NDavengers’ facebook page, said the attacks happened shortly before midnight.
In the earlier hours of Sunday the same group claimed it had blown up five pipelines belonging to both the NNPC and Chevron over a 48-hour period beginning on Friday.
Repeated attempts by the Federal Government to get the group to sheath it’s swords through dialogue have so far been rebuffed by the Avengers, who are insisting that oil companies leave the Niger-Delta region.
