The police spokesman then quoted Adebanjo as saying: “I urge the good people of Rivers to remain confident and trust in my ability to dutifully discharge the police constitutional mandate of ensuring public peace and security.”

The commissioner called for cooperation, support and understanding from the people to enable him to put in place “sustained security architecture that will bring the crime level in the state to the barest minimum”.
