Hilarious: Christian students show up in school with church garments

Christian students on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, also defiantly came to school with various church garments.

Justice Jide Falola of the Osun state High Court on June 3, 2016, ruled that Muslim students can wear Hijabs in public schools, adding that it was part of their fundamental rights.

In a swift reaction, the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) also threatened to instruct Christian students to wear choir robes and other religious garments to school.

CAN also accused the Osun Governor, Rauf Aregbesola of trying to Islamise the state through the approval of Hijabs in schools.

Premium Times reports that officials of the Christian group were in various schools across the state to ensure the rights of the students with garments were not violated.

A CAN representative in Iwo, Paul Olagoke said “We are here to ensure that no student is send back home from school.

“We are here to defend the right of our children, since the female Muslim ‎students are free to wear hijab, our own children also are free to wear anything.”

Also, the principal of Baptist High School, Omotayo Arowolo said school activities were going on as usual.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has however appealed the ruling.
