Muhammad Ali ‘put on life support machine’

Former world heavyweight champion, Muhammad Ali, has been put on a life support machine, according to reports.

The 74-year-old was taken to hospital on Friday due to respiratory problems, although he was said to be in a “fair condition”.

A spokesperson for the boxing legend announced that only a “brief” stay was expected in hospital, but numerous reports have now claimed that Ali has been put on life support.
Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1984 and last January was hospitalised with a urinary tract infection.
