Labour to Proceed with Strike Despite Court Order – Reports

According to the Vanguard, the NLC and TUC have decided to go ahead with their proposed strike action despite the ruling of the NIC.

Reports from the Vanguard indicate that this decision was taken at the NLC’s National Executive Council meeting that held at the NLC headquarters in Abuja.

The strike action is to commence at 12 midnight and is indefinite.

According to the Vanguard a source said “Our decision not to suspend the strike was further fuelled by today’s injunction by the Industrial Court, restraining us from proceeding on the strike expected to begin tomorrow,”

Things don’t look so clear though as it has been gathered that the Joe Ajaero faction of the NLC may not join in the strike action.

Things may still change as the NLC is to meet with representatives of the Federal Government tonight.
