FG to fund surgery of 14-year-old kidney transplant patient

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, on Tuesday paid an unscheduled visit to a 14-year-old patient in need of kidney transplant at the Gwagwalada Teaching Hospital, Abuja.

During the visit on behalf of the Federal Government, Adewole promised to pay all the medical expenses of the patient, Faith Andrew, one of the six children of a widow who cannot afford N25,000 thrice a week for her daughter’s dialysis, let alone the N7 million needed for her Kidney transplant.

The Minister informed that in the spirit of the people-oriented government of President Muhammadu Buhari, the government would not rest on its oars in ensuring that dividend of democracy gets to the downtrodden in the society.

He also stated that every Nigerian would soon benefit from the Universal Health coverage programme that is being championed by the present administration as efforts are already at advance stage in this regards.
