Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and National Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olu Falae Tuesday denied any link with the fresh N100 million allegedly collected from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) account for 2015 election purposes.
The Publicity Secretary of SDP, Mr Remi Olayiwola, in a statement, said Chief Falae did not collect any N100 million money from the CBN through a company contrary to a report on Tuesday that the fund was paid to Falae through a company unknown to him.
Olayiwola said the report in the media was falsehood meant to smear the name of the former SGF and the SDP Chairman.
According to him, the report was referring to the same controversial N100million given to Chief Falae by the former chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Tony Anenih to enable SDP support former President Goodluck Jonathan for the March 28, 2015 Presidential Election.
It said: “We strongly believe that this newspaper story is yet another attempt at further embarrassing Chief Olu Falae and especially the SDP which the initiators now perceive to be towering in the politics of Nigerian.
“We wish to inform the general public that it is the same amount sent by the PDP to the SDP as a result of their inter-party agreement that is now being re-represented to the public through another channel in order to portray Olu Falae and the SDP in bad light.”
