Robbers Cut Off 72-year-old Guard’s Hands In Benin

Robbers have reportedly chopped off the hands of a 72-yr-old guard, Jacob Ikilo after he was robbed at his place of work around Egba community, Edo State.

Pa Ikilo presently receiving treatment at the male orthopedic ward, University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) Benin City, said he was attacked by the robbers who had wanted to gain entrance into the company where he works as guard.

“While I was on duty at bout 3am on Monday February, 29, 2016, I heard a strange noise in the industry premises. I decided to go around the yard which was in total darkness. That short walk was a regret for me as the armed robbers sneaked into the premises unnoticed, descended on me with their machetes and cut off my two hands in the process.

Doctors at UBTH, who did not want their names in the print said the victim needs N380,000.00 for surgery for his right wrist adding that it has been kept alive by a tiny blood vessel.

Pa. Ikilo father of three children, who hails from Igueben town in Igueben local government area of the state, maintained that he is yet to recover form shock.
