Fire guts Kano Singa market

Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed as fire gutted the famous Kano Singa market this morning.

The fire started around 3am and in a short time it spread to various shops destroying provision items worth millions of naira.

Up till the time of filing in this report, men of the fire service have been battling with the fire in their efforts to put it off.

Security was also beefed up around the market to stop thieves from looting properties of the affected traders.

Police, civil defense and vigilante personnel were deployed to the market.
