On the first day of the exercise on Wednesday, 15 firms were shut. The enforcement team had difficulty entering the premises of NBC as the staff put up a stiff resistance. The team eventually succeeded in sealing the company after serious arguments. The Chairman of the state Board of Internal Revenue, Mr. Bicci Alli, reiterated that the affected companies had earlier been officially communicated of their outstanding debt to the government and another one to remind them of their inability to fulfil their payment within the regulated time, but they failed to heed the notice. He said the enforcement was pursuant to the provision of Section 8(1-2) Oyo State Professional/ Business Premises Law 1996 (as amended).
