Two persons were shot dead by bandits at Kwanar-Tsauni between Udawa and Labi along the Birnin Gwari- Kaduna road yesterday, while 25 others were abducted at different points.
The two persons were said to be passengers of a vehicle traveling along the road. The driver refused to stop when flagged down by the bandits who emerged from the bush.
As a security patrol was alerted and moved towards the area, the bandits relocated to another area where they stopped two other vehicles and abducted the drivers and the passengers before retreating into the bush.
One of the drivers, Mohammed Kabir, who escaped, told our correspondent that the bandits were well armed. Police spokesman, ASP Mukhtar Hussaini Aliyu, was not available for comment.
