165 More Nigerians Make Voluntary Return From Libya

A total of 165 Nigerians in Libya have made a voluntary return to the country as they arrived at the International Airport Lagos Cargo area on Thursday night.

A new batch of 165 Nigerian returnees from Libya have arrived the country with the assistance of International Organization for Migrations (IOM).
The aircraft operated by Al Buraq airline with registration number 5A-DMG, arrived the Cargo wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) at about 9:45 p.m. on Thursday.
The NEMA Zonal Coordinator, Yakubu Suleiman received the returnees on behalf of the Federal Government from IOM Head of Mission in Nigeria, Ms Enira Krdzalic who came down to Lagos from Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Ms Krdzalic disclosed that IOM with the assistance from EU have repatriated 7,746 back to Nigeria and the organization is on the verge of reaching the 8000 mark.
She explained that 600 have been rehabilitated already while another 200 are to be taken up for rehabilitation.
She urged Nigerian government to enhance efforts in provisions of employable opportunities by engaging more international partners in providing more opportunities to the youths.
She praised the government in her efforts at providing basic amenities but solicited for more cooperation with developing partners in tackling the urge to travel abroad by the youths.
The NEMA Zonal Coordinator, said the figure includes 68 female adults, six female children and one female infant as well as 89 male adults and one male infant.
