Dino Melaye’s accusers, 4 others escape from police net

Six suspected criminals, including two that indicted Senator Dino Melaye and Mohammed Audu, have escaped from a police cell at the A division in Lokoja, Kogi state.

The escaped suspects are Kabiru Seidu aka Osama, Nuhu Salisu aka Small, Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed.

Kabiru Seidu and Nuhu Salisu who were last week paraded before journalists by Force Public Relation Officer, Mr. Moshood Jimoh, implicated Senator Dino Melaye and one Mohammed Audu for sponsoring them to wreck havoc come 2019 election. While four other escaped suspects were on court remand in police custody.

The state Police commissioner, Mr. Ali Janga who lamented conspiracy between some of his men and escaped suspects, explained that thirteen police men who were on duty during the incidence have already been arrested.

“From the scenario so far, i suspected connivance, because Six conventional police officers were on their normal duty, two members of the Special Anti Robbery Squads (SARS), were at the back of the Cell where the suspects escaped while three other members of the SARS were inside the police station.”

“Investigation into the unfortunate incident is ongoing, while the thirteen Police Officers who were on duty when the incident occurred were defaulted and detained for interrogation,” he added.

The Police boss stressed further that names of the escaped suspects have been forwarded to the Interpol and to be declared wanted including Senator Dino Melaye and Mohammed Audu.

He assured that the criminal suspects will be apprehended again and made to face the wrath of the law.

New Telegraph however learnt that Osama and Small were supposed to appear before the court yesterday before their escape.
