Confusion as Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello, reverses sack of commissioners


The Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, has asked his commissioners and Local Government administrators to go back to office few minutes after he had directed them to hand over to their official documents to the secretary to the state government, Folashade Arike Ayoade.

The governor who was in a several hours of meeting with all his appointees was said to have have directed the 21 local government administrators and 15 commissioners to hand over their official car to SSG.

However, Governor Bello, whose decision might offended a very powerful appointee in his government, bowed to pressure and rescinded his decision, asking his the resolved government officials to return back to their various and demanded better relationship between them and the masses.

The Director-General Media to the governor, Kinsley Fanwo in a text message to Journalist, said ” the governor has decided to reverse himself his decision to sack some members of his cabinet. The cabinet members will continue to work with him.”

The governor’s action might also not be unconnected with the fact that most of his appointees are not politically grounded hence the need for his re-election come 2019.

There had been speculation making around that the governor was bid to dissolve his cabinet members and bring in grounded to politicians against 2019 governorship election in the state.
