A Civil Society Organization, Concerned Nigerians, has called for the immediate arrest of Prof. Ango Abdullahi, as he had thrown caution to the wind and had continued to make unruly comments over the unabated killings by the Fulani herdsmen across the country. One of the leaders of the group, Deji Adeyanju, in a statement issued in Abuja, said that the supposed elder statesman has betrayed his status by his continuous defence of the Fulani herdsmen and justifications of their lawless activities.
The group, while stating that security agencies would not ignore such personality and his incisive comments on burning national issues, but be at alert to inviting members of the opposition for probes each time their comments were perceived to be against the interests of government, also called on Department of State Security( DSS) to immediately arrest him.
“We call on the Directorate of State Security (DSS) to invite Prof Abdullahi to reveal the extent of his knowledge behind the rationale for the killings. This is in keeping with similar invitations extended to others by the DSS to explain comments perceived by the DSS to be hate speech. “
