Doctors certified Deji Tinubu fit before match – Ayorinde

The sudden death of Deji Tinubu, Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Commerce and Industry, on Thursday threw shock waves into the sports community because of his sports background. Tinubu was with Governor Ambode and other top executives of the state at a retreat in Epe where he was a skipper of one of the football teams that featutred in a novelty match. The former Chairman of Lagos Sports Council and Special Adviser to Ambode on sports slumped and died during the match.

Authoritative sources revealed to our correspondent that Tinubu was certified fully fit before the match and was also declared the fittest among his colleagues. “There was no sign or anything before or during the match. The governor directed that everybody must be tested and it was done.

He was declared as fittest and so it was a surprise that he slumped and died just few minutes after he was certified fit,” an eye witness at the scene in Epe, said. Commissioner for Tourism and former commissioner for Information, Steve Ayorinde, confirmed on his facebook wall that Tinubu was with four doctors at the retreat.
