TB Joshua Bestowed With Paraguay’s Highest National Honour

Temitope B. Joshua, a popular television preacher in Nigeria, has been awarded with the National Order of Merit of Paraguay by the country’s National Parliament.

This decision was taken on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the sitting of the parliament in Asuncion in the South American country, a radio journalist, Nativida Romero of 970 Am Radio first broke the news.

The “Comuneros” is the highest distinction that the Paraguayan parliament can bestow on a person. Bernardo Villalba (ANR), a member of the parliament, proposed that the spiritual leader, Prophet TB Joshua, be granted the honour and the proposal was fully approved.

“Avanza País MP, Rocío Casco, did however oppose it on grounds that the distinction had previously only been awarded to citizens of the country. For his part, the legislator Villalba maintained his position,” local news reports say.

“Villalba put forward his arguments, in full session, where he expressed that Joshua, compelled to visit Paraguay, ‘will bring peace and blessings to the population’,” the report continued.

“I do not just want to welcome him to our country. We pray that his stay be as fruitful as possible and that it will be a blessing to our nation,” the MP said.

“For the first time ever, I propose the National Order to be awarded to a personality and I am proposing that he be awarded this distinction by the Members of Parliament.”

Villalba proposed that the national honour be presented to TB Joshua at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium where the Nigerian preacher is billed to hold a crusade.

Prophet TB Joshua is popular in Southern America where he often fills stadiums during his crusades. He has received similar honours at his crusade in Peru.
