45-year-old man rapes boy to death in Kebbi

Kebbi State Police Command has arrested Dantani, a 45-year-old man, for allegedly raping a nine-year-old boy to death in Zauro town of the state.

Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim M. Kabiru, disclosed this yesterday at a media briefing.

He said: “One Dantani Sani, 45, of Sabon Gari area of Zauro town, was arrested based on information that he had sexual intercourse with one Ibrahim Muhammadu Dangi, male, now deceased, aged nine years, of the same village, against the order of nature.”

The police boss said the suspect would be charged to court for culpable homicide.

He also announced that operatives apprehended two men, Ibrahim and Yohana, for allegedly raping girls aged 10 and 12, in different villages.

He said: “On the July 31, 2017, at about 14:00hrs, one Abubakar, in a village in Kalgo LGA, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Kalgo, that his daughter, a 12-year-old, went to the bush to cut grass for the animals and was sexually molested by Malam Ibrahim.

“One Mohammed, in a village in Zuru LGA, Kebbi State, reported at Zuru Police Station that one of his daughters, a 10-year-old, was raped by Yohana Mudi, 25 years old, while rearing goats.”

Also arrested were seven armed robbers, two notorious Benin Republic highway robbers and two kidnappers, who had terrorised residents of Bagudu, Wasagu-Ribah, Maiyama, Birnin Kebbi areas.

CP Kabiru further confirmed the arrest of two fake soldiers who planned to defraud the governor’s wife.

They are ‘Lieutenant’ Nasiru Abubakar Bako and his ‘orderly,’ Hussaini Umaru.

The command assured that all suspects would be charged to court soon.
